The United States Green Building Council (www.usgbc.org)
Founded in 1993, the USGBC is a coalition of leaders from
every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings that are
environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and
work. The USGBC has over 6,000 members,
and provides research, programs and advocacy to transform the building industry
towards sustainability. The USGBC developed and manages the LEED Green Building Rating System.
There are over 50 USGBC chapters throughout the United States. Siemens Building Technologies is a member of
the USBGC.
ENERGY STAR for Buildings (www.energystar.gov)
Established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the
ENERGY STAR for Buildings program provides an independent energy performance
rating for individual buildings.Buildings
with an ENERGY STAR rating of 75 or better are awarded the ENERGY STAR
Label. Siemens Building Technologies is an ENERGY STAR Partner.

Whole Building Design Guide (www.wbdg.org)
The WBDG, managed by the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), is a web-based portal providing government and industry practitioners with one-stop access to information on a wide range of building-related guidance, criteria and technology from a "whole buildings" perspective. Development of the WBDG is a collaborative effort among federal agencies, private sector companies, non-profit organizations and educational institutions

Canada, that is a competitive system to the USGBC LEED rating system.
